Lorenzo Linares Duque Known as "Linares" to all who know him, he was born in Camaguey, Cuba in 1952. He graduated from the Provincial Art School in Camaguey in 1973 and became a professor there in 1977. In 1984 he obtained a Master of Fine Art degree from the Institute of Art in Kiev, Ukraine. He has had numerous personal and group exhibitions throughout Cuba in the years since. He has won numerous prizes for being one of Cuba's foremost landscape artists. His work has been exhibited in various countries throughout the world including Italy, Spain, Denmark, Panama, and now in the United States. The subjects of his paintings are found in the countryside around Camaguey where he makes his home today.
